What AM I doing for goodness sakes? This blog began recording and tracking an experimental project (April 1, 2014- April 1 2015). I decided I was tired of just waiting for my fears to come up when I least expected them and sabotage yet another goal, conversation or opportunity for joy. So I decided I would go to them exactly where they are. It came to me to take an epic fear and extend love to it for 30 days straight and see what happened. Once that idea surfaced the rest of my fears (apparently there are quite a few) started a rebellion and demanded to be heard. Thus the Twelvemonth of Self Love Project was born.
Each month I am guided to an epic fear (one that has always or nearly always caused me grief in some real way) and then I let Holy Spirit lead the way. I extend love to this thought daily and record the messages, practices and experiences I have along the way.
This journey is surprising, powerful and more fun than I thought it would be. I post a lot because that is how I think and notice my thoughts. It is not necessary to follow or read posts in order for you to get a feel for what I am doing and how you, too, might be able to greet your fears in a new way.
Check out months (see tag cloud on the bottom right) in any order or start reading from Month 1: The Fear of Commitment.
What Am I doing now? My project of extending love to my fears in 2014/15 was so successful and delicious I continue my practice to this day of extending love to my thoughts, fears, desires on a daily, moment by moment basis. This is in fact the center of my spiritual practice. My practice is leading me to the daily integrated awareness of Self Love. I call this the “And BEYOND” part of my blog. I don’t know if practice makes perfect or even if Self Love makes the loving perfect but it certainly makes peace, joy, power and juicy!
