4. Day 13: You Can See Without Judgment
I am not sure yet what my long string of tremendously busy days is actually for but I am pretty sure I was given the answer up front with this month’s extending love to the fear of letting go. This day went from 4:30am -11:30pm, it went from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe [back to Sac then] to San Fransisco Bay and back home again. The day included business meetings, readying the house between visitors, laundry, groceries, traffic, an unbelievably deep and restorative power nap (thank you Jesus!), a brilliant dinner, a hilarious discovery with a good friend, a delightful car ride with the...

I believe my letting go practice is very much about letting go of my unwillingness to fully inhabit my joy. I am a naturally “upbeat’ person, laugh easily, enjoy the littlest of things (like brushing my teeth or the sound of my children chewing) but I recognize that I have such a deep sense of worry for the welfare of others that I am distracted from being fully aware of my own joy. It is perfect timing to find this beautiful book “Journeys With A Brother” by Bartholomew and the Dalai Lama. This is the story of a group of intrepid travelers who accompany...

Here is the wonderful quote from Bartholomew on fear I promised yesterday. Really let this sink in. Allow the “bigness” of it to make itself comfortable in between your cells and thoughts. Receive it as from your own heart. “Fear is an energy that can be your teacher if you have the willingness to face it. Fear is power. It is an energy that is easily felt. It is a part of the life-cycle. When fear is with you can train yourself to say “My friend! You are here! I remember you well. You have come to tell me some part of me needs looking at, needs explaining....

I am loving the bounty being showered upon me with this extending love to my epic fears project (which has become my daily practice). My friend Bartholomew, who I would describe as another voice and flavor of Love has written the most beautiful and perfect piece on fear which I will share below. I want to add a few thoughts (please feel free to extend love to this thought if it is shocking or frightening in any way) about what is sometimes called channeled writing or speaking. In the past 30 or so years there have been quite a number of channeled writings or speakings: Seth, Bartholomew,...

This blog and project of extending love to fear is coming with all kinds of bonuses. My favorite is that quotes, experiences, and “random” thoughts keep running right into my open arms. Hey, may it is because my arms are open? Today, let’s begin with a yummy quote written over 25 years ago that is saying the same thing about extending qualities of love that I found in the classic “I Come As a Brother” by Bartholomew: “To any extent WHATSOEVER that you practice any of the empowering truths such as love, humor, vision, acceptance, courage,...
