G’Day Gratitude
Hello my friends. It has been a few weeks since I last connected with you and I have missed you. I miss sitting still and listening to my heart as I share. There is something quite precious about writing from the heart knowing that there are those who could be listening…………..perhaps even my own self. I have recently returned from a rather lovely trip to Australia. Those of you who know me know this is more a returning home than a vacation. My husband is Australian and both of our daughters were born in Australia. We were going this time for a family (army family!)...

What have I learned from taking seven weeks off from our normal daily life? 1. There is no such thing as taking off from daily life. (life and the dailiness continues, just differently) 2. Life continues too, abundantly 3. The trip really began when we allowed ourselves to think it was possible (this began in intention over a year ago, in reality over six months ago) 4. It all started with this thought: We’d love to return to England. 5. We can only take off from our businesses because we have an incredible, trustworthy, capable team taking care of day to day business 6. I miss...

This holiday to England has been all about presence. Presence with our own hearts, presence with each one we were privileged to spend time with and presence with what gifts life brought to us each and every day. Christmas Presence is that time when we all join together in that beautiful presence of love that is always within us. We have met numerous people who celebrate Christmas and the deeper meaning of “God-With-Us” in Emmanuel’s birth without knowing very much about the original Christmas story. The Bible tells us “You will know them by their love.”...

Our plan for the day included lunch with some BNI Connect friends, a carol service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, dinner and the West End play “The Play That Goes Wrong”. It also ended up including letting the maintenance guy in to repair the washing machine, grocery shopping for a Christmas Cake and walking for miles. The thronging crowds reminded me it was also one of the last shopping days before Christmas. I had a little cough on the Underground which blew up into another coughing fit at the wonderful Indian restaurant where we were meeting friends known previously only in...

I must confess that I feel a bit naughty or selfish even choosing joy, or living joy. I mean, there is still so much pain and suffering in the world at large and even in my local vision (the homeless man outside the SPA Grocery selling a magazine). Why do I get to be full of joy if there is still pain? This has actually been a question that has plagued me in many ways for years. Why do I get the nice family and pleasant circumstances when others are so unhappy? I naturally took this to Holy Spirit and was heartened, as always, with the gentle response. HS: Precious One, Fear not. This...
Read More9. Day 3: Joy Is Ordinary, Ordinary Is Joy
I have a feeling that joy is quite connected to the ordinary. Can you tell me/show me what is meant by being ordinary? HS: Dearest One, the practice of ordinary is the practice of noticing, allowing and being what is true about you all the time. Ordinary is what is always true, no exceptions. Ordinary is the rock upon which you build your life. Ordinary is what the universe is. Ordinary is what IS. You long sought extraordinary as a way to tell yourself you are better what what is. It is a fool’s game which leaves players exhausted, lost, traumatized and forgetful. Extraordinary is...
