The Self Discipline of Desire
I was speaking to a friend recently who praised the self discipline of my having blogged daily for a year. I was a bit taken aback as it didn’t feel like self discipline at all. I write and extend love to my thoughts because I want to. Afterwards, this phrase floated into view: the self discipline of desire. I took it into my quiet time this morning to ask Holy Spirit more about this. Me: Holy Spirit, please tell me more about this “self discipline of desire”. What does it mean and how does it enrich my path and purpose? HS: Precious One, Dearest, take time to dally...
Read MoreBut Not Without Self Love
It is dawning on me now, that self love is the big leagues in the game of Life and Love. We can love our children, our neighbor, the flag, our country, our spouse, our house. We can love chocolate, green grass, cherry pie, clean sheets and of course our dogs and cats (and gerbils, elephants and the snake that kitty keeps bringing into the house). But without self love the circle is not yet complete. As I looked back on this amazing year of extending love to my fears (and thoughts, feelings and just about everything else) these truths about Self Love revealed themselves to me today, as I...

Feeling is another dimension. It is what is present underneath all that you are thinking, seeing, noticing. It is that animal of light that shines warmth on your belly and releases a thousand, thousand butterflies into your chest. This presence of “more” is a live currant running through every cell of your body, not just nerve endings in your fingertips and gut. Feeling can thrash you, uplift you, transport and transform your experience in less time than the spark of electric charge that the brains sends to say “blink” to your eye. Feeling lets you know wordlessly...

I notice that I use the words thoughts and feelings interchangeably. Are they the same thing in a different forms? HS: Dearest One, Feelings are often thoughts you can’t hear or don’t/wont notice. A feeling will alert you to awareness, the thought can then form more fully and translate into words of guidance, actions or stand-stillness. Feelings, then, are pre-thought. The more attuned you are to your feelings; notice, listen to, welcome and trust, the more quickly you are open to guidance and direction. Surrendering to Feeling is not the same thing as being at the mercy of...

Yesterday I wrote about a recent experience with some negative feedback I had received. Getting negative feedback is as helpful as getting positive feedback but it often doesn’t feel like that at first. Sometimes feedback makes you crazy or angry or hurt. Sometimes it makes you want to run, flee or change your name. I needed a list to help me remember when I am stuck in the deafening place of not remembering that love is present so I asked Holy Spirit to show me how feedback (all kinds) is love too. 100 Reasons Why Feedback Is Love Too The Universe is kind. I am actually asking for...

I am about to take a totally new step for me. I have the opportunity to attend a spiritual writing conference in Chicago next month. It includes one of my favorite writers and is produced by a favorite publisher, Hay House. They are sweetening the deal with an amazing opportunity for writers aspiring to be published (I have just discovered this about myself in this month of looking at success. EEK!! I realized I actually do want to publish my work in the form of a book or three). In addition to learning how to submit work for publication the attendees will actually submit work for...
