8. Day 4: Not-Knowing IS….

8. Day 4: Not-Knowing IS….

I feel bubbly, jittery, nervous and swirly.  The rapid staccato strobe light effect is like having my heart on speed boil. I need to express it all and just allow the flow so balance and peace may return to my awareness.  I can barely calm down with all that is going on (of the happiest variety, flying to LA for a conference, prepping for our departure soon to UK, a wedding etc).  Help and guide me into peace now. My walk helped tremendously.  It allowed the nervous energy to move through me and left me open to hear the Holy Spirit.  These...

8. Day 3: Let The Mystery Know You

8. Day 3: Let The Mystery Know You

I love a good mystery.  Why is that so?  If I fear not-knowing, why would I love mystery?  What is it about mystery stories that makes us love them? 1.  It will all work out in the end. 2. We know the actors (or characters) are not really dead, lost, hurt or betrayed. 3. We can feel the thrill of the fear, that frisson of anticipation and apprehension without taking it on as our own story,  (Unless we do get so immersed in the thrill we forget that the story isn’t real and we are not in danger in any way.) This is actually one of the...

8. Day 2: The Little House In The Woods

8. Day 2: The Little House In The Woods

Let’s get comfortable for a moment with not-knowing something.  Think of something you don’t know (how a TV works or what is that fuzzy bit of lump in the bottom of your handbag or if your work is really satisfying) and just notice how you feel.  Do you want to ferret around in your bag and get that thing OUT?  Do you want to Google ‘TV’ and see if they can explain how the color dots fly through the air and into your set?  Is you mind now wondering why you ever decided owning a business was a good idea?  Or can you...

8. Day 1: Not-Knowing Feels Vulnerable

8. Day 1: Not-Knowing Feels Vulnerable

After an epic month of honesty it is time for quiet of a different flavor.  Now it is time to open up to a new month’s focus of extending love.  What is coming to me is extending love to not-knowing.  There are so many things (to infinity really) I don’t know.  I strive, struggle, hope for, wheedle, beg, demand, need …….TO KNOW.  I have always wanted to know ‘why’ and ‘how’ and ‘who’; I want to know what’s next, what’s for dinner and why does my toe itch?  I am constantly...

7. Day 31: Love Loves Tricks AND Treats!

7. Day 31: Love Loves Tricks AND Treats!

What a fabulous day to conclude my month of extending love to honesty!  All Hallow’s Eve.  I feel both hallowed by gratitude and hollowed out like a pumpkin after getting up close and personal with honesty.  I kind of hate to admit it hasn’t been as scary as I thought it would be to be honest and to welcome honesty in others.  Before, I was like a kid who’d run up to the door and ring the bell but was too scared to see who answered the door.  I never stayed around long enough to get my candy treasure.  Honesty always answers...

7. Day 30: Judgment Can Come Too

7. Day 30: Judgment Can Come Too

I had a docent training yesterday that left my head spinning.  It went so long I was in traffic I normally miss so got the opportunity to sit quietly with my thoughts on the drive home.  My thoughts were like a group of 5th graders after indulging in the Halloween treats offered at the class party; rowdy, tired, hyped up on sugar and had no way to expend the energy.  Because I am extending honesty this month I tried extending honesty to the moment.  I was tired, bewildered, hungry, confused, yet strangely empowered.  None of this made sense....

7. Day 29: Is Your Gratitude Honest?

7. Day 29: Is Your Gratitude Honest?

How does honesty jibe with gratitude?  I have always been a very grateful person.  I notice and give thanks for all I have; family, home, businesses, Love, friends, freedom etc.  But I have not always extended gratitude for pain, or discomfort or apparent lack.  I certainly have not extended gratitude for the pain or terror or loss experienced by those I love.  So how do honesty and gratitude work together? Honesty includes all in gratitude. Gratitude is always honest. In other words, I do not have to choose or figure out or (God forbid)...

7. Day 28: How Can I Include Myself (Right Now)?

7. Day 28: How Can I Include Myself (Right Now)?

I asked Holy Spirit how I can include even the fearful parts of ourselves in the wedding preparations.  No matter how surrounded from within and without by love I am, thoughts of fear or discord or annoyance come up in an attempt to steal the moment from joy. Me:  How best can I include all parts of myself in preparations for the wedding and allow for calm, delight and focused energy? HS:  You set the tone of your doing with your BEING and your intention of being. Dear One, this is a marvelous unconditional practice ground to join in the...

7. Day 27: Guess Who’s In The Wedding Party?

7. Day 27: Guess Who’s In The Wedding Party?

I found myself sitting at the dining table with my daughter and a dear friend (who also just happens to be a wedding & event planner;) purportedly brainstorming about the wedding but actually getting a crash course in honesty.  Who doesn’t love those early days of planning a big event?  It is a time when dreams run wild and all is possible.  What was different here is that I had also invited honesty.  In myself, in my daughter and in my friend.  I didn’t say “Now, let’s be honest with one another!” but that...

7. Day 26: Not A Parlor Trick

7. Day 26: Not A Parlor Trick

I am sitting here in the awareness of honesty.  I asked Holy Spirit what do I need to know right now about honesty that I might go even deeper. HS:  Dearest One,  Honesty is not a parlor trick.  It isn’t “that thing you do” when you want a different outcome. Honesty is that practice of willingness to go within and ask.  That is all. Honesty is efficient because Love knows only efficiency.  Honesty is powerful because Love is powerful.  Honesty is revelation because Love is revelation. Honesty is a quality of Love.  Be open...
